Get to know Connor Harper
Connor Harper is a 25-year-old environmental activist from the United States. He is the founder of Save The Blue, an ocean conservation organization dedicated to protecting marine ecosystems through research and advocacy.
Harper grew up in a small town in Maine and was fascinated by the ocean from an early age. After graduating high school, he enrolled in college to study marine biology but soon found himself frustrated with the lack of attention being paid to the plight of our oceans. This frustration led him to drop out of college and pursue his own project full-time—Save The Blue.
The mission of Save The Blue is to spread awareness about the importance of marine ecosystems, educate people on how they can reduce their impact on them, and further scientific research into ocean conservation. Since its founding, Save The Blue has grown rapidly: it now boasts over 500 volunteers and hundreds of partners around the world who are helping to carry out its mission.
Harper’s dedication to saving our oceans has earned him recognition as one of Forbes 30 Under 30 for Social Impact in 2020. He also regularly speaks at conferences around the world on topics ranging from ocean acidification to sustainable fishing practices.
Save The Blue has had a huge impact on the way people think about marine conservation, and Harper is proud of what he has achieved. He hopes to continue pushing for change in our relationship with the ocean so that future generations can benefit from healthy, thriving marine ecosystems.
